MB Daily News Update: LTFRB chair Garafil tapped as OPS-OIC


Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairperson Cheloy Garafil has resigned after being tapped as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, Malacañang confirmed.

A person-of-interest has been tagged in the killing of veteran broadcaster Percy Lapid as several agencies gained ground in efforts to solve the case.

Meanwhile the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) has eased boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao’s tax burden after it nullified his P2.2-billion tax liabilities, and even blamed the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for violating his right to due process.

It will be a cloudy and rainy weekend in Central Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao due to a low-pressure area (LPA) and inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) that are prevailing in the country.
