De La Salle eyes to continue its winning ways when it goes up against College of St. Benilde in the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila.

Despite the absence of head coach Ramil de Jesus, the Lady Spikers eked out their first win against UAAP rival Far Eastern University in a thrilling five-set victory, 25-13, 19-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-8 last Oct. 1.

Alleiah Malaluan took the starring role for DLSU in their first SSL outing with 13 points off 11 attacks, a block and an ace.

The NCAA champion St. Benilde opened the hostilities in Pool D with a loss, coincidentally against FEU last Sept. 24 in a late night 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 11-15 setback.

The Lady Blazers seek to bounce back against their neighbors in Taft in their 3 p.m. matchup.

Letran, on the other hand, will make its debut and open the Pool D clash against FEU (1-1) in their 12:30 p.m. meeting.

Lyceum and Emilio Aguinaldo College will both march into their first game of the season at 10:00 a.m. in Pool B.

UE (1-1), which is coming from its straight-set 25-22, 27-25, 25-16 defeat against Perpetual last Oct. 2, will test its mettle against winless San Beda (0-2) to cap off the quadruple-header at 5:30 p.m.
