The Caloocan City local government inaugurated the two "Apply in Malls: Caloocan LGU One-Stop-Shop" centers at the Zabarte Town Center and Metroplaza Quirino in the city on Thursday, Oct. 6.

The city government said the project aims to make government services accessible to residents, especially taxpayers and business owners.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along," Malapitan said the program was his promise during his electoral campaign last May.

“Panahon pa lang po ng kampanya, sinasabi na natin na sisikapin nating ilapit sa inyo ang mga serbisyo ng gobyerno. Ngayon, hindi pa tayo nakaka-isang daang araw sa tungkulin, natupad na natin ito (It was during the campaign that we said that we will try to bring government services closer to you. Now, we are not even a hundred days in the office but we have already fulfilled it),” Malapitan said.

The two centers will provide government services and transactions including the payment of business tax, registration of new business, application receipt for building, occupancy permit, zoning clearance processing, sanitary permit, and payment of community tax certificate (cedula).

City Treasurer Analiza Mendiola assured the residents that the process and payment transactions of documents will be reflected in the city's database in real time.

“Sa mga nagtatanong po, parehong sistema po ang gamit ng ating munisipyo sa ating mga one-stop-shops. Ang lahat ng ibinayad niyo po’y real time nating natatanggap at ito po ang magre-reflect sa inyong official receipt (For those asking, our city uses the same system in our one-stop-shops. We receive everything you paid in real time and this will be reflected on your official receipt),” she said.

The said one-stop shops are open to the public from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mayor Malapitan emphasized that taxpayers can also transact payment online on the city's website at caloocancity.gov.ph through GCash application.

He stated that it aligns with the city's efforts and vision to digitalize public service operations.
