PH Red Cross launches youth 'Reconnect' program

The Philippine Red Cross Youth (RCY) launched its "RCY Reconnect" program as part of the annual celebration of RCY month every October.

This program aims to encourage the youth from different PRC chapters to "reconnect with their fellow youth volunteers."

"The youth is the future of the country. And remember that enabling and ennobling go hand in hand with leadership," PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon said.

RCY Reconnect consists of the following major events: Leadership Week 2022, RCY Excellence Awards 2022, and GOAL 13 Leadership Lab Program, as per PRC.

The Leadership Week 2022, to be conducted from Oct. 17 to 21, will enhance the leadership skills of PRC youth volunteers through activities that will allow them to practice the duties of their staff counterparts.

Meanwhile, Leadership Week 2022 is a recognition event for PRC youth who exhibited notable contributions to communities amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The last activity, GOAL 13 Leadedrship Lab Program, is a two-month program that will equip PRC youth volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to "implement climate adaptive programs in their communities."
