Over P800,000 worth of ecstasy seized in Parañaque City drug bust


Government anti-narcotics operatives seizedP841,500 worth of ecstasy on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 4, following the arrest of a call center agent during a controlled delivery operation in Parañaque City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the claimant, Jan Vino Siwa, 29, of 27 Holland St. Better Living Don Bosco, was nabbed after receiving 495 tablets of ecstasy

Reports disclosed that the package containing the party drugs arrived at the Port of Clark last Sept. 30.

The operatives confiscated the package that contained three plastic bottles, five silver pouches with ecstasy and one identification card (ID).

“PDEA International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service (PDEA ICFAS) received an information from its counterparts that a package containing illegal substances from the Netherlands will arrived at the Port of Clark. This information was transmitted to PDEA Region III for interdiction operation", the PDEA team leader said.

Siwa faces charges for violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’

The operation was carried out by the PDEA RO-NCR (Regional Office-National Capital Region), Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark and Parañaque City police. (Chito A. Chavez)
