Police seize P714,000 shabu, dismantle drug den in Taguig 


Anti-narcotics operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 4, five persons in a buy-bust that led to the seizure of more than P700,000 suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and dismantling of an alleged drug den in Taguig City.

The operation was conducted by the SPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit together with the District Mobile Force Battalion on Rohale Street in Barangay Calzada Tipas, Taguig.

Acting SPD chief Col. Kirby John Kraft identified the suspects as Juvylyn Ramirez, 42; Tahir Sumlay, 34; and Bajunaid Yusoph, 43, all tagged by the police as high-value individuals (HVIs); Melandro Lazarte, 41; and Mark Anthony Alelojo, 40.

The police seized six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 105 grams with a value of P714,000, and P500 buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

The illegal drugs will be turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
