CEBU CITY – Police seized 18 kilos of suspected shabu amounting to P122 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Busay here on Monday, Oct. 3.
Lawmen said the subject of the buy-bust ran off after sensing he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer.
Police tried to chase the subject who ran to a secluded area and was able to board a “habal-habal” (motorcycle-for-hire).
Lawmen withheld the name of the subject pending follow-up operations.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement-Special Operations Unit recovered packs of shabu weighing a total of 18 kilos inside a Toyota Innova left behind by the subject.
Police said the vehicle that the subject used to transport the illegal drugs didn’t have a license plate.
Further investigation will be conducted to identify the owner of the vehicle.
Police said the illegal drugs came from a big-time drug lord who is a member of a drug syndicate operating in Central Visayas.
