DOH reports 16,017 Covid-19 cases in the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Oct. 3, a total of 16,017 new Covid-19 cases during the past week.

According to DOH's weekly case bulletin, the average number of daily cases is at 2,288 and is 10 percent lower than the cases from Sep.19 to Sep. 25.

DOH also recorded four new COVID-19 cases tagged under severe and critical cases. There are 753 admissions tagged under severe and critical, comprising 10.5 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, there are also 611 or 24.3 percent out of 2,515 of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds being used while 5,579 or 26.2 percent out of 21,316 non-ICU beds are being utilized.

Meanwhile, DOH also recorded 228 additional deaths due to Covid-19 in the past week, 34 of which occurred between Sep. 19 to Oct. 2. Of the 228 deaths, 35 occurred in September 2022, three in July 2022, one in June 2022, four in February 2022, three in January 2022, and 182 in September 2021.

For vaccination, DOH recorded 73,181,447 fully-vaccinated individuals while 19,760,243 received booster shots.
