The logistics firm flew truckloads of bottled water provided by SM companies to Cebu as water shortage hit the province after the typhoon.

"We were getting calls from all over asking to bring relief goods to Cebu, Surigao, Siargao and Dinagat Islands,” noted Airspeed Chairman and President, Rosemarie P. Rafael. “They had difficulties bringing items to various cities (but) the spirit of Bayanihan (working together) came through," he added.

Although its own warehouse in Cebu was affected by the typhoon, Airspeed sent supplies and assistance to employees.

“We needed to take care of our own people first. When we took care of their needs, they were motivated to take care of the needs of others,” according to Rafael. “Our people were willing to do it on a holiday. They are willing to serve in spite of the challenges and the crisis,” he added.

Airspeed transported bottles of water from SM companies en route to Cebu via land and airin the aftermath of Typhoon Odette.

As an international air freight forwarder, Airspeed is now one of the country’s fastest growing logistics brands serving the B2B and B2C market.

Its services include Pinaspeed, an online pickup and delivery service and UnboxMe, a US to Philippines shipping partner. It also has SpeedFood/SpeedGrocer, a swift and reliable online multiservice platform providing delivery everywhere and anywhere needed, and SpeedGifts which is an online gift delivery service catering to Global Filipinos.
