“The flagship project is a search conducted every three years for outstanding women, whose accomplishments redounded to the strengthening and enrichment of the fabric of the nation and of our national life,” TOWNS president, Ces Oreña-Drilon, says. “These women and indeed all TOWNS awardees are role models, whose contributions to society continued to be measured through achievement, commitment, vision, and selflessness.”

TOWNS Awards first began in 1974 when Lions Club International under District 310A Governor Manny “Gabby” Alino led the first search. Past awardees/members then assumed the role of finding remarkable Filipino women for the awards in 1984. Over a decade later, they established  TOWNS Foundation Inc. as a not-for-profit and duly registered organization whose members undertake projects that harness the experience, skills, and resources of its members to contribute to improving quality of life and act as catalysts for national development, as per Ces.

The 11 awardees will be officially part of the organization’s growing family of strong women through the 2022 TOWNS Awards Night scheduled on Oct. 25.
