American boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. apologized for the five-hour delay of the media conference at the Cove Manila in Okada Manila Resort Casino in Paranaque City last Thursday.

“I wanted to say sorry for the extreme late today, because I was taking care of some personal things back in the US. Some family issues, you know we all love our family, and I myself is a family man, they needed some advice and I had to help them, so thank you for understanding, and thank you for joining us tonight,” Mayweather mentioned.

Mayweather was formally introduced as the new face of AQ Prime during the press conference. The boxing champ shared how thankful he is for becoming a part of the AQ Prime family. He was welcomed by AQ Prime executives Atty. Aldwin Alegre, Atty. Honey Quiño and RS Francisco.

“It’s all about connecting the dots and doing business worldwide, and with my reach, we were able to communicate with their team over the phone, and it was like a match made in heaven,” he said.

Despite the delay, Mayweather gave a heartwarming message to all his Filipino fans.

“The Filipino culture is unreal, and I am happy to be back and you guys have embraced me with open arms, so I just really want to say thank you to the whole country of the Philippines,” he said.

Becoming a part of a Filipino streaming brand, Mayweather also emphasized the importance of giving back to people, because during the pandemic, AQ Prime launched its brand and helped actors and directors to get back on track. (Carissa Alcantara)
