Taiwan resumes visa-free privilege to PH

Taiwan has resumed the visa-free privilege to travelers from the Philippines on Thursday, Sept. 29, the Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) announced.

Taiwan’s BOCA said Filipinos can now stay in Taiwan for up to 14 days effective until July 31, 2023.

"Nationals of Philippines (effective till July 31, 2023), except those holding diplomatic or official/service passports, are eligible for the visa exemption program, with a duration of stay of up to 14 days," BOCA said on its website.

Holders of Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand passports “must have proof of accommodation/hotel booking, host/sponsor’s contact information and sufficient travel funds” when entering Taiwan, the bureau stated.

The ministry added that vessel or aircraft crew members or service personnel from these three countries intending to board to report for duty are ineligible for visa-free entry.

On Sept. 6, Taiwan announced the temporary suspension of visa-free privilege to 12 countries, including the Philippines.
