No. 7 wanted person in Las Piñas arrested

A 39-year-old woman, tagged as the No. 7 wanted person in Las Pinas City, and facing charges of cybercrime, was arrested by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) of the Las Pinas police on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, said the suspect, identified as Gemma Tuliao, is now detained at the police custodial facility.

Santos said the suspect was arrested along Soyuz St., Moonwalk Village, Barangay Talon 5, Las Piñas after members of the WSS served the warrant of arrest issued against her by a Tuguegarao, Cagayan City court.

He said a warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect on Sept. 7 for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 by Judge Vilma Tumaliuan of Pauig Regional Trial Court, 2nd Judicial Region Branch 2, Tuguegarao, Cagayan City.

The city police chief said a P48,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect.

Tuliao admitted that she posted on her Facebook page several unsavory words against a person who owed her money and was not aware that she had been charged for cyber libel.
