Meanwhile, PRC also gave honor to the five volunteer-rescue personnel from Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office who lost their lives during a rescue operation in San Miguel, Bulacan on Sept. 25.

"Nakikiramay kami sa mga mahal sa buhay ng limang rescuers na nasawi habang isinasalba ang buhay ng kanilang kababayan mula sa baha (We are sending our sympathy to the loved ones of five rescuers who died while saving the lives of our countrymen)," said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon.

The victims, namely George Agustin, Troy Justin Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurreccion, and Narciso Calayag, were conducting a rescue operation when a wall collapsed on their boat due to an intense flash flood which led to their death.
