Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo, PAF spokesperson, said S-70i Black Hawk utility helicopters conducted several sorties from Villamor Air Base in Pasay City to transport 24,982 lbs of relief packs containing food, water, medicines, and clothes to typhoon victims in Polillo Island on Tuesday.

Polillo Island sustained massive damage as it was among the first areas affected by the eye wall of Karding.

Meanwhile, a Huey Bell-205 utility helicopter along with another S-70i Black Hawk chopper delivered 9,696 lbs of relief goods for residents of General Nakar town.

On the same day, the PAF also conducted another rapid damage assessment and needs analysis (RDANA) flight over San Luiz, Aurora using a Huey II helicopter to determine what areas can already be reached by relief assistance.

“The PAF will continue to carry out relief operations for the Filipinos affected by Super Typhoon Karding as it also continues to perform other missions for national security and development,” Castillo said.
