Over P7.8-M worth of shabu from London seized from claimant in Cavite drug operation


Anti-narcotics authorities seized a total of P7.866 million worth of shabu on Tuesday, Sept. 27, following the arrest of a female drug claimant during a controlled delivery operation in Bacoor, Cavite.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said suspect, Noelle Denise Azul, 29 of Magdiwang Subdivision was collared at 5;50 p.m. after receiving the package which came from London, England and arrived at the Port of Clark on Sept. 23.

Using the ‘Rigaku Progeny’ testing device, the operatives discovered the contraband inside a package marked ‘BABY SOFT TOYS.’

Authorities confiscated one package containing two stuffed toys and three blue plastic bags where 1,140 grams of shabu were found, six identification cards and one mobile phone from Azul.

Azul is now facing charges for violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs) of republic Act (RA) 9165.

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port Clark and local police. (Chito A. Chavez)
