Manila LGU gives 100 hard hats to CA justices


The city government of Manila has provided 100 hard hats to the Court of Appeals (CA) that will be used during times of earthquakes or other disasters.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, and City Administrator Bernie Ang, led the turnover ceremony held last Sept. 14.

The city mayor said the hard hats will serve as “an extra layer of protection especially in times of disasters and catastrophes.”

Presiding Justice Remedios A. Salazar-Fernando, Associate Justice Fernanda Lampas-Peralta, Justice Apolinario D. Bruselas Jr., Justice Maria Elisa Sempio Diy, Justice Ramon A. Cruz, Justice Louie P. Acosta, Justice Ronaldo Roberto B. Martin, and Justice Carlito B. Calpatura received the hard hats.

Lampas-Peralta, meanwhile, expressed her gratitude to the city government for its "right and conscious decision for widening their leeway for safety."
