Romualdez hails 5 fallen Bulacan rescuers in FB post



House Speaker Martin Romualdez took to Facebook on late Monday night, Sept. 26 to pay tribute to the five heroic rescuers from Bulacan who perished over the weekend during a rescue mission amid flash foods caused by typhoon "Karding".

Lubos po tayong nakikiramay sa pamilya ng limang Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Rescue Personnel na pumanaw kahapon habang nasa gitna ng rescue operations sa San Miguel, Bulacan.

"Salamat sa inyong kabayanihan (Thank you for your heroism), Narciso Calayag Jr., George Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurreccion, and Troy Justin Agustin.

"Today, we honor their lives and we will keep them in our prayers," Romualdez wrote in a Facebook post.

The rescuers, who are part of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan, met their untimely end in a flash flood in Barangay Camias, San Miguel, Bulacan on Sunday night, Sept. 25.

Meanwhile, the House is expected to adopt a resolution citing the "heroism and bravery" of the five PDRRMO members during the plenary session Tuesday, Sept. 27.
