No 'Karding' casualties in Mimaropa but PNP forces on standby

Police forces in Police Regional Office 4-B remain on alert for possible deployment in areas affected by the onslaught of super typhoon "Karding".

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Sultan Hernia, director of the PRO 4-B, said this is in compliance with the oder of the Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership to place personnel and equipment on standby for possible deployment in areas that need manpower in responding to the effects of the weather disturbance.

"Our search and rescue personnel regionwide are on standby for possible response scenarios," said Hernia.

PRo 4-B covers the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (Mimaropa).

He said personnel from the Reactionay Standby Support Force (RSSF) are also on standby for reinforcement.

Police Capt. Clyde Kalyawen, chief information officer of the PRO-B, said the latest monitoring they received was that there was no casualties in the entire Mimaropa region.

But he said they attended to the stranded passengers in Romblon and Oriental MIndoro.
