"Namahagi po tayo ngayong araw ng relief goods sa 77 pamilyang taga-Isla Puting Bato na nilikas kahapon sa Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary School bilang paghahanda bago pa manalanta ang bagyong #KardingPH (Today we distributed relief goods to 77 families from Isla Puting Bato who were evacuated yesterday from Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary School in preparation before typhoon #KardingPH hit Luzon)," Lacuna said.

"Naghatid din po tayo ng ayuda para sa iba pang mga pamilya na nilikas natin sa ibang evacuation sites (We also delivered aid for other families that we evacuated to other evacuation sites)," she added.

The mayor also assured that the city government is prioritizing their safety as well as in providing the basic needs of its constituents, especially during times of disasters.

A total of 653 families or 2598 individuals were brought to various evacuation centers in the city, according to lawyer Princess Abante, City of Manila communications head.

The city government started the preemptive evacuation of families residing in vulnerable barangays and areas on Sunday, Sept. 25, after Manila was placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 due to typhoon Karding.
