‘Trisikad’ drivers vie for honors in Diyandi Festival race in Iligan City


ILIGAN CITY – Thirty pairs of “trisikad” (bicycle with a sidecar) competed in the San Miguel Fiesta Trisikad Race as part of the Diyandi Festival in Barangay Poblacion in this city on Saturday, Sept. 24.

CONTESTANT No. 17 crosses the finish line in the 'trisikad' race in Iligan City on Saturday, Sept. 24.

"This is your day, let us be happy, win or lose, let us continue to show camaraderie and brotherhood as Iliganons, thus, we say, ‘Asenso Iliganon,’” Marlon Clapano, head, Barangay Affairs Office, told the contestants from various trisikad associations here.

Trisikad drivers thanked the city for government for bringing back the event which was halted for two years because of the pandemic.

The Barangay Tubod Trisikad Association produced the top three winners who pocketed P7,200, P5,200, and P4,200, respectively.

Non-winners received a consolation prize of P700 and five kilos of rice each courtesy of Councilor Michelle Sweet Booc here.

Sweet congratulated the Barangay Affairs Office for successfully holding the event.
