More games at the Big Dome as PBA adjusts venues

PBA made adjustments to the venues of some of its 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup games with five playdates initially set at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City being moved to the league’s old grounds at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The adjustments begin in the upcoming weekend schedules with the games between NLEX and Blackwater and NorthPort and Meralco on Friday, Sept. 30, being the first pair of games to be held at the Big Dome in the mid-season conference.

Likewise, the Phoenix-Bay Area match as well as the clash between Converge and Magnolia on Saturday, Oct. 1, the collision between Rain or Shine and Terrafirma, and the showdown of bitter rivals Meralco and Ginebra on Sunday will also now be played at the Araneta Coliseum.

November 4 games were also moved to the Big Dome while the November 5 schedule was moved to Ynares Center in Antipolo. Bay Area is set to clash against Meralco while NorthPort tangles with Rain or Shine in the first date while the second one features a double-header with games between Converge and NLEX, and Terrafirma and TNT.

Meanwhile, the November 9 twin-bill that has Phoenix taking on Converge and NLEX facing off NorthPort, will now be played at the Big Dome instead of the earlier Ynares Antipolo venue.

Last in the adjustments is the November 18 schedule which will now be held at the Big Dome as well. NLEX battles Terrafirma and Ginebra locks horns with Blackwater, supposedly at the PhilSports Arena.

The rest of the games – some of which will still be played at PhilSports Arena, along with other venues in Mall of Asia Arena, Araneta Coliseum and Ynares Center in Antipolo will remain the same as originally planned.
