DOH reports 17,891 new Covid-19 cases in the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Sept. 26 a total of 17,891 new Covid-19 cases in the past week.

In DOH's weekly case bulletin, daily average cases grew to 2,556 or 22 percent higher than cases from Sept. 12 to Sept. 18. DOH has also recorded two new cases tagged under severe and critical.

Currently, there are 790 admissions tagged under severe and critical, or 11 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, there are 576 or 22.9 percent out of 2,514 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds currently being utilized while there are 5,851 or 27.8 percent out of 21,078 non-ICU beds being used.

Meanwhile, DOH has recorded 242 deaths during the past week, 29 of which occurred between Sept. 12 to Sept. 25.

DOH said that of the 242 deaths, 34 occurred in September 2022, one in January 2022, 59 in October 2021, 147 in September 2021, and one in April 2021.

For Covid-19 vaccination, DOH has recorded 73,017,553 individuals fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while 19,211,908 have received booster shots.
