Reopened Manila North road section in Ilocos Norte to be closed due to ‘Karding’


PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Region I (Ilocos) said Sunday, Sept. 25, that the Manila North Road, Kilometer 578+800, in Sitio Banquero, Barangay Pancian, here will be closed anytime due to super typhoon "Karding" (international name “Noru”) and isolated heavy rains.

As of posting time, the road section is one lane passable to light vehicles.

The DPWH added the road section will also be closed for clearing and safety and is monitoring the area for recurrence of landslides.

A DPWH team was deployed to assist motorists on the road section. In addition, equipment was also deployed near the area to clear debris and landslides.

DPWH reminded motorists to take extra precaution while driving in the area.
