NCRPO monitors 152 flood-prone areas in Metro Manila, places over 900 cops on standby

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has placed on standby more than policemen to assist in the disaster response in Metro Manila.

NCRPO director Police Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo said the policemen were tasked to assist in the conduct of search, rescue and retrieval.

"They are all geared for any eventualities that maybe caused by the typhoon," said Estomo.

He said he also ordered to be placed on standby emergency equipment such as life vest, handheld radio, rubber boats, mobile cars, megaphone and other supplies.

Estomo said they are currently monitoring 152 flood-prone areas within Metro Manila.

"We are prepared to render disaster response should the need arise. But still, we are hoping that we will be spared from the ill effects of this calamity," said Estomo.

"We urge the public to maintain the highest sense of vigilance amid the anticipated landfall of typhoon Karding in our country," he added.
