Several local government units in and outside the National Capital Region (NCR) announced on Sunday, Sept. 25, the suspension of classes for Monday, Sept. 26, following the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration's (PAGASA's) declaration of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 in Metro Manila due to Super Typhoon Karding.
Below is the list of cities that have canceled classes in both public and private schools for Monday, Sept. 26 (as of 2:28 p.m., Sept. 25):
- City of Manila – all levels, public and private
- Marikina City – all levels, public and private
- Muntinlupa City – all levels, public and private, including work in local government offices
- Caloocan City – all levels, public and private
- Navotas City – all levels, public and private
- Las Piñas City – all levels, public and private
- Mandaluyong City – all levels, public and private
- Pasig City – all levels, public and private
- Parañaque City – all levels, public and private
- Pateros – all levels, public and private
- Quezon City – all levels, public and private, including work in local government offices
- San Juan City – all levels, public and private, including work in local government offices
- Taguig City – all levels, public and private
- Pasay City -- all levels,public and private
- Malabon -- all levels, public and private
- Valenzuela City -- all levels, public and private, and work in the local government
- Makati City -- all levels, public and private

"Karding" was declared a super typhoon early Sunday, Sept. 25.
It is expected to make landfall in the northern portion of Quezon province or the southern portion of Aurora on Sunday, PAGASA said.
The weather bureau issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 in Metro Manila at 8 a. m.
Under Signal No. 3, the public is warned of flooding, landslides, and storm-force winds of 89 to 117 kilometers per hour with moderate to significant threat to life and property.
Super Typhoon Karding (Noru) is the Philippines’ 11th tropical cyclone for 2022.
The list will be updated once other local governments announce suspensions.
