Las Piñas, Parañaque, Pasay announce class suspension on Sept. 26


The city governments of Las Piñas, Pasay, and Parañaque announced on Sunday, Sept. 25 the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, on Monday, Sept. 26 due to super typhoon “Karding.”

The city government of Las Piñas directed its frontline offices -- the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Health Office (CHO), City Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO), City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), and General Services Office to be on 24-hour alert and to render immediate action in case of an emergency.

The CDRRMO was also ordered to immediately evacuate families in flooded areas especially those living in the coastal areas.

Personnel of the CDRRMO were told to submit a report every four-hours for light to moderate rain; every two-hours for moderate and heavy rains, and for the heavy to intense rains, the report should also be every two-hours.

Families to be affected by flooding due to super typhoon “Karding” were told to immediately call the Las Piñas City 24/7 Operation Center at (02) 8290-65-00.

The Parañaque Emergency and Local Operations (ELO) center is closely monitoring the weather condition and ready to receive emergency calls 24/7 at telephone number 8820-PQUE (7783).

Major areas in the city are also being monitored for flood and traffic situation.

The city DRRMO is also on standby for possible evacuation.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano also announced the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools.
