Ipo Dam to release water as it nears spilling level due to ‘Karding’


The state weather bureau notified the public that the Ipo Dam Management will conduct a spilling operation on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. as the dam’s water nears spilling level due to the heavy rains brought by super typhoon Karding.

In a hydrological dam situationer, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) disclosed that as of 4 p.m. on Sunday, Ipo Dam’s water level was at 100.63 meters and its spilling level is at 101 meters.

“nd continuously increasing due to heavy rains induced by super typhoon Karding,” said PAGASA.

The initial discharge of water will be 60 cms.

Meanwhile, residents living along the low-lying areas and those near the riverbank of Angat River from Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel, Calumpit, Paombong, and Hagonoy were advised to remain vigilant and alert for possible increase in their river elevation.
