High value drug suspect yields P2.5 M worth of shabu in Cebu City buy-bust


CEBU CITY -- Police seized more than P2.5 million worth of shabu during an operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City on Saturday night, Sept. 24.

Arrested was 24-year old John Carl Entia Gimpayan who was included in the drug watchlist.

Gimpayan is a high-value individual operating in the city, said Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas.

Vega said about 375 grams of shabu worth P2.5 million were seized from the suspect.

Gimpayan was cornered at Carlock Street in Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City at around 8 p.m. on Sept. 24.

"The arrest is a result of hard work and dedication shared between the police, force multipliers, and the community in our efforts to identify the source and the people behind the illegal drug trade operating in Central Visayas and other neighboring provinces," said Vega.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, police said.
