Comelec suspends work in NCR, 4 other regions Monday


Work will be suspended in a number of offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday, Sept. 26.

In an advisory on Sunday, Sept. 25, the poll body said the suspension of work was due to Super Typhoon "Karding."

"Due to expected inclement weather caused by Super Typhoon Karding, work is suspended tomorrow, Sept. 26, 2022, in the following offices of the Comelec:

Region III, Region IV-A, Region IV-B, Region V, and the National Capital Region (NCR)," read the advisory.

"The public is hereby informed that the issuance of voter's certification and all other frontline services in the aforementioned areas are therefore suspended," it further read.

As of 2 p.m. Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical, Services Administration (Pagasa) said the center of the eye of Super Typhoon "Karding" was estimated at 115 kilometers East Northeast of Infanta, Quezon or 76 kilometers East of Polillo Islands with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h near the center, and gustiness of up to 240 km/h.
