Bren barges into the playoffs after two seasons as TNC, NXPE bow out

Bren Esports finally ended its two-season playoff dry spell following its 2-1 victory over RSG Philippines that allowed the M2 World Champions to book a spot in the MPL Philippines Season 10 playoffs on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the ICITE Auditorium.

Bren outlasted the defending champions in the winner-take-all Game 3 to the series win that also eliminated both Nexplay EVOS and TNC Pro-Team from contention for the playoff spot.

"Sobrang saya namin na makakapag-playoffs na kami kasi dalawang season na kaming tapos nakabalik kami ngayong season. Week 6 pa lang, kaya sobrang saya. Sobrang saya ko rin sa teammates ko lalo na sa mga nakasama namin last season na hindi nakapasok," said team captain Kyle "Phewww" Arcangel.

Despite RSG’s loss, it still did enough to advance to the next round joining Blacklist International, Omega Esports and ECHO.

In the other games, Omega and ECHO gave their respective bids for one of the top two spots and the outright upper bracket semifinals berth a huge boost with victories.

Duane “Kelra” Pillas came out victorious in a race of backdoor plays with Kenneth “Nets” Barros to give Omega the first point of the series before the last season runners-up dominated Onic Philippines to complete the sweep.

ECHO, likewise, swept TNC to regain the top spot of the standings with a 9-2 record.
