A total of 2,691 more people were found positive for Covid-19, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Based on its data, active cases nationwide went up to 32,323. This was slightly higher from the 30,056 active cases recorded on Friday.
Metro Manila remained the top region with the highest number of cases logged in the recent 14 days with 13,202 cases.
It was followed by Calabarzon with 4,738, Central Luzon with 2,627, Davao Region with 1,248, and Western Visayas with 842.
The death toll climbed to 62,759, while the recovery tally increased to 3,839,696.
Currently, the running total of confirmed cases in the Philippines stood at 3,934,778.
"Even in the simplest ways of following our minimum public health standards such as isolating when sick, ensuring good airflow, and wearing of masks, we can prevent Covid-19 transmission," the DOH said.
The agency added that getting vaccinated "helps in strengthening our wall of immunity, which aids in protecting every Juan and Juana especially the elderly and the immunocompromised.
