“Established in 1987 with the support of UNESCAP, UNDP and UN-Habitat, the Network of cities has grown to include over 173 municipalities, NGOs, private companies and research centers,” according to the CityNet website.

A total of 25 cities in the Philippines are members of CityNet.

Biazon said during the election of officers, Muntinlupa was reelected as auditor, a position the city has held in CityNet since 2017.

“Yesterday , there was another election of officials and Muntinlupa was reelected. Muntinlupa will serve as auditor of the organization starting this year, 2022, until 2016,” he said in a video he posted on Facebook.

Biazon said he has seen projects in Kuala Lumpur that can serve as models for cities. One of these is public housing, which is a tenement style structure.

“It is noteworthy that although it is public housing, it is very clean and beautiful,” the mayor said.

The 9th CityNet Congress will end today, Sept. 23.
