Man wanted for 67 counts of qualified theft in Negros arrested


BACOLOD CITY – Armed with warrant of arrest, police arrested served a man wanted for 67 counts of qualified theft charges at Crossing Sawmill, Barangay Himogaan Baybay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Sept 22.

The suspect was identified as Jacob Garcia, 24, of Barangay Himogaan Baybay.

The court issued the warrant of arrest on Sept. 21, 2022.

The warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Leoncio Ragay Bancoro of Regional Trial Court Branch 41 in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The court set a bail of P30,000 each for the said cases, or a total of P2,010,000 for his provisional liberty.

Maj. Roberto Indiape, Sagay police chief, said that a gas corporation based in Dumaguete City, where Garcia worked as an accountant filed the cases against him.

Garcia has yet to be reached for comment.
