Imee goes on a sentimental visit of NKTI and recalls memories of Martial Law

Senator Imee Marcos

SENATOR Imee Marcos continues to celebrate the birthday of her father, the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., on two new videos streaming on her official YouTube channel this weekend.

The Sept. 24 vlog is centered on the senator's recent visit to the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI), one of the specialty hospitals built by her parents during their watch.

Since the former President was a dialysis patient himself, it has become a tradition for the senator to provide free dialysis for patients of NKTI and other selected hospitals on his birthdate.

This particular video episode gives a heartwarming peek on a cause that is very close to Imee’s heart as she and her family experienced first-hand how it is to live with and take care of someone suffering from a kidney ailment.

On Sunday, Sept. 25, Imee takes a more serious detour from her usual fun and whacky vlogs as she organized a forum on the 50th anniversary of Martial Law aptly entitled SingKWENTA’T SingKWENTONG Martial Law.

The forum was attended by former military officers and leftist rebels in a freewheeling discussion about their personal experiences during the martial law era. The open dialogue explored learnings from that period of the nation’s history while shedding light on the myths and misconceptions through the points of view of Imee as well as such panelists as former Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Kit Tatad and Gringo Honasan.
