Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Tuesday, Sept. 20, ordered the Manila Police District to deploy its Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) personnel to Mendiola and Plaza Miranda on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in observance of the 50th anniversary of the martial law declaration.
In an advisory, the city mayor also instructed the deployment of firetrucks and other emergency units to the area.
Lacuna said this is “to maintain peace and order in anticipation of any activities connected to the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of Martial Law.”
The city government also advised the public to avoid these areas as heavy traffic is expected due to the said activities.
