The B2B Project and the Familiarization Tour were part of the celebration of the National Tourism Week that started on Wednesday, Sept. 21, until Friday, Sept. 27.

The DOT Region 2 Office hosted 20 tour operators that visited the tourist attractions in the province of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

DOT Region 2 Director Fanibeth Domingo said hotel owners, tourism enterprises, resort operators, and tour operators from different provinces in Cagayan Valley attended the B2B meeting held in Santiago City.

During the first day of the program, the tour operators visited tourist attractions in the municipality of Ramon, the famous Magat Dam and Hydro Electric Power Plant, and the Balai Segundo Museum.

Local government units of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and the province of Nueva Vizcaya also sent tourism officers to support the B2B meeting and reception dinner.

“Tourism industry sector in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino has been remarkable considering that there are still restrictions during the pandemic, health and safety protocols are being practiced particularly in DOT-accredited tourism enterprises patronized by tourists,” said Domingo.

“It started on Tuesday until this coming Friday. Tour operators will be experiencing the various tourism attractions of the ‘Feel the Vibe Vizcaya!’ and a ‘Basket of Happiness!’ in the province of Quirino, which are two landlocked provinces in the valley,” she added.
