The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that Marlon Corpuz, 49, was collared at around 8:50 p.m. after authorities found illegal drugs at his residence in Zone 2, Molave Street, Barangay Capatan.

The illegal drugs were discovered when the authorities served a search warrant on Corpuz, the PDEA said.

The operatives seized five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing one gram each of suspected shabu worth P6,800; one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing more or less 10 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and stalks valued at P1,200; one black color dominant pouch; and several pieces of empty transparent plastic sachets.

Authorities noted that Corpuz, who has been the subject of numerous complaints in the community for his alleged illegal drug-dealing ways, is considered a high-value target by the provincial PDEA unit.

The search warrant issued by the Tuguegarao City Regional Trial Court was served by the PDEA Region II Cagayan Provincial Office and local police.

Corpuz faces charges for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
