1,886 new Covid-19 cases recorded

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, Sept. 21, reported 1,886 more people who contracted Covid-19.

Based on the latest DOH case update, active coronavirus cases in the country stood at 27,284.

Metro Manila still has the highest number of new Covid-19 cases in the past two weeks with 11,989. It was followed by Calabarzon with 4,264, Central Luzon with 2,436, Davao region with 1,293, and Western Visayas with 935.

The country’s caseload was at 3,927,120, wherein 3,837,179 people have recovered from the viral illness and 62,657 died.

“Even in the simplest ways of following our minimum public health standards, such as isolating when sick, ensuring good airflow, and wearing of masks, we can prevent Covid-19 transmission,” the DOH said.

The DOH said that getting “your jab done and boosters done” can help strengthen “our wall of immunity which aids in protecting every Juan and Juana, especially the elderly and the immunocompromised.”
