P6.2-M shabu seized in Pasig buy-bust


Over P6.2 million worth of shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation by operatives of the Pasig City Police early Tuesday morning, Sept. 20, in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

The police identified the suspect as Jhun Lawrence Lao a.k.a "Payat," 18, and a resident of the same barangay.

Recovered from Lao were the buy-bust money and 10 plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated total weight of 917 grams and standard drug price of P6,235,600.

The marking and inventory of the seized evidence was conducted at the place of arrest in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Zandro Asilo Jr and a representative from the media.

The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were then brought to the police station for the filing of appropriate charges and subsequent referral to the NHQ-Forensic Group in Camp Crame, Quezon City for drug test and laboratory examination.

Pasig City Police Officer-in-Charge Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. commended the joint efforts of the Pasig City Polcie personnel which resulted in the successful anti-illegal drugs operation.

"Illegal drugs have greater impact on the voluminous crimes all over the world and the arrest of a high value individual drug suspect in Pasig City manifests the Philippine National Police's (PNP) strong commitment and dedication against the proliferation of illegal drugs activities in our area of responsibility." Sacro said.
