Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan led the distribution of cash aid. She was accompanied by Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto.

Financial assistance of P10,000 was given to each family.

Lacuna said the recipients were victims of the fire incidents that took place in Districts 1 to 6 since June this year.

According to Lacuna, some families have relatives who died, while some were left homeless due to the fire incidents.

Vice Mayor Nieto also expressed his sympathy to the victims.

"Hindi naman natatapos dito, hangga't may buhay may pag-asa. At hindi naman tayo bibigyan ng ating Panginoon ng problema o pagsubok na hindi natin kakayanin. Lahat kaya natin lalung-lalo na kapag may ginagawa (It doesn't end here, as long as we're alive there is hope. The Lord will not give us a problem or trial that we cannot handle. We can do everything especially if we're doing something)," the vice mayor said.

Lacuna advised the families to take extra precautions to avoid becoming fire victims again.
