Rizal police arrest 277 in week-long anti-gambling operations


Police arrested more than 200 persons and confiscated over P36,000 bet money in a week-long anti-gambling operations in Rizal province.

Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) director Col. Dominic Baccay announced Monday, Sept. 19, that the operations conducted by the municipal and city police stations for the past seven days resulted in the arrest of 277 individuals.

Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law are being prepared against the suspects.

Baccay also called for the residents’ participation in the effort of the police to eliminate illegal gambling in the province.
