The Quezon City government on Monday, Sept. 19, held the ceremonial turnover of more than 1,000 laptops to public elementary and secondary school teachers and children development workers in the city.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the ceremonial turnover which was attended by public elementary and high school teachers from Quezon City Public School Teachers Association (QCPSTA), child development workers from the public day care centers under the city’s Social Services Development Department (SSD), and members of the City Schools Divisions Office (SDO).
The local government said 1,000 laptops will be distributed to public school teachers while 50 will be given to child development workers.
It added that the devices, which will help the educators in their online classes, creating lesson plans, and other activities, are on top of the 5,593 laptops that were already distributed to the teachers.
There were also four Toyota Innova vehicles that were turned over to the SDO which school principals and teachers can use for transportation when going to important events or other school-related activities.
In August, the city government said that it completed more than 90 school infrastructure projects from 2019 to 2022, distributed more than 250,000 tablets with internet connectivity to Grade 4 -12 students, started the delivery of more than 17,000 table arm chairs to 21 public schools, and turned over more than 20 vehicles and a delivery van to the SDO.
