Onic Philippines asserted its mastery of the defending champion RSG Philippines with a dominant 2-0 romp to complete a sweep in their regular season matchup and most importantly become the first team to punch a ticket to the playoffs in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium in Libis, Quezon City on Sunday, Sept. 18.

The rookie-laden Hedgehogs proved that their first round performance was no fluke as they outlasted the current MSC champions in a nip-and-tuck affair in Game 1 and never looked back since then to collect three points that proved to be enough to advance to the playoffs with a total of 21 points on a 7-4 record.

Nowee “Ryota” Cabailo and Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales made a huge play towards the end of Game 1 when they managed to catch Eman “Emann” Sangco’s Claude which opened up the window for Onic PH to take for the 23-minute evolved Lord.

RSG, with still four players in full health, refused to back down and contested the Lord take with Nathanael “Nathzz” Crisologo’s Masha diving through the backlines and forcing the entire Onic squad to focus their attention on the last season’s finals MVP.

Just when RSG PH thought it had enough space to freely secure the Lord, Stephen “Sensui” Castillo utilized the shadow of his Karina pick to teleport to the Lord pit and secure the retribution to complete the steal, practically ending the match, 16-12, in almost 25-minutes of play.

Sensui proved hsi one of the best junglers in the league with a 5-2-7 line while Ryota did a little bit of everything with a 4-1-7 KDA on the Paquito.

The Onic jungler followed up the impressive performance in Game 1 with a neat 1-0-6 KDA on the jungle Baxia in Game 2.

Onic PH was methodical with its objective-centered game play anchored on a sturdy lineup that also featured Rapidoot’s Atlas, Ryota’s Thamuz and Super Frince’s Faramis.

Onic only needed 10 minutes to close out the series on a 10-4 tally.
