Team Iskolar’s Agamanos rips PH mark in Patafa weekly relay


Abcede Agamanos of Team Iskolar and Edward Flores of University of the Philippines emerged as two of the best performers in the recent Patafa Weekly Relay Series Week 5 at the Philsports Track and Field Oval.

Agamos leapt to a distance of 12.98m meters in women’s triple jump to better the PH mark of 12.92 registered by Fil-American Marisa Kwiatkowskiin 2018 in Sacramento, California

Flores, on the other hand, topped the men’s 5000 meter run in a personal best of 15:36 as they led the march of the favorites to the podium in the event sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission and CEL Logistics.

“Target ko po talaga is around 15:20 or below. So far po ng personal best ko is 15:36, pero alam ko po na kakayanin ko pang ma-improve yun,” said Flores.

The weekly relay series is part of the elite athletes’ preparations for the upcoming UAAP, NCAA and National Open.

Other top performers are Ma. Jonna Abutas (FEU) in 5000m, Karl Arvin Aquino (NU) in men’s triple jump, Ariel Legaspi (Mapua) in men’s discus throw, Daniella Daynata in women’s discus, Alana Julliane Halaguena (UP) in 3000m walk, Tochukwu Okolo (FEU) in 110m hurdles and men’s 400m, Jelly Dianne Palagile (Army) in 100m hurdles, Jerry Vasques (Tarlac Agri University) in men’s 1500m, Bernalyn Bejoy (Team Iskolar) in women’s, and Charlaine de Ocampo (NU) in women’s 400m.
