8 arrested, P1.2-M illegal drugs seized in Central Luzon buy-busts


CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Authorities seized more than P1.2-million worth of illegal drugs and arrested eight suspected drug peddlers in separate buy-bust operations in Pampanga, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija on Thursday, Sept. 15, and Friday, Sept. 16.

Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region III arrested Channy Zulueta, alias "Datu"; Ed Paulo Magbanua, and Christina Marie Tan in Barangay Sta Monica, Floridablanca, Pampanga.

They yielded five heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu. Also, suspects had one knot-tied plastic ice bag with crystalline substance weighing more or less 130 grams with estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P884,000.

Edmond Pascual and Ramon Christopher Borris were taken into custody in Ibayo, Marilao, Bulacan. Recovered from them were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing nearly 25.9 grams with an estimated DDB value of P176,120.

In Barangay San Josef, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Anyernel Reyes and Ronel Roxas were arrested and caught with seven transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 13.5 grams and valued at P93,636.

Alias “Jomar” was nabbed in Barangay Pinagbakahan, City of Malolos, Bulacan. He possessed one heat-sealed transparent brick of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana weighing more or less one kilo worth P120,000 and the buy-bust money.

Charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article 2, of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against the suspects.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen said the seizures disrupted the illegal drugs trade in the region. He called on the public to help reduce the impact that illicit drugs have in communities by reporting suspicious or illegal activities to the police.
