Former ONE flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio is raring to return to action in the Circle after almost a two-year lull due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Very excited ako kasi it's been a long time," said Eustaquio, who last saw fought in October 2020 with a unanimous decision win against Song Min Jong. "Iba pa rin 'yong may competition, iba pa rin 'yong preparation and I'm really looking forward to see my name there and compete one more time."
Training has been continuous over in Team Lakay's lair over in Benguet and Eustaquio assured that he's in tip-top shape once he returns to the Circle.
Asked for one certain name up on his radar, the Team Lakay veteran mentioned Gurdarshan "Gary" Mangat of India.
Eustaquio wants to settle unfinished business once and for all after Mangat called him out after winning against Yodkaikaew Fairtex last June.
"Let's finish the business," said Eustaquio during the media launch of ONE Warrior Series: Philippines in Taguig City Thursday, Sept. 17.
Just like usual, it will be up to ONE Championship though if the match will push through but the Igorot warrior expressed his desire and preparedness.
"I'm always ready. I always train every day and I make sure that it's part of my routine," said Eustaquio, who owns a 14-8 record. "I believe that I have done my assignment, I have done my homework professionally. I'm very much ready, any time, anywhere."
Mangat, for his part, holds a 17-3 slate and only lost once in the Singapore-based promotion against Reece McLaren.
The Indian-Canadian warrior has won four of his five matches since his ONE debut last March 2019.
