Barangay tanod in Isabela nabbed in drug sting

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Philippine National Police arrested a barangay tanod (watchman) in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, Sept. 15, in Barangay Daramuangan Norte, San Mateo, Isabela.

Suspect was identified as Robert Manuel, 47, of Barangay Sinamar Norte, San Mateo, Isabela and high-value target in the illegal drugs trade.

Manuel was arrested at about 7 p.m. after he sold one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P3,400 to a PDEA poseur-buyer.

Recovered from him were the buy-bust money, a Samsung keypad phone, and a red motorcycle.

Manuel was previously a drug surrenderer in the municipality.
