The first floor of the house was occupied by Randele Autor while Nolibeth Arabit occupied the second floor.

No one was injured in the fire that damaged about P10,000 worth of properties. The fire was put out at 7:59 p.m.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon went to the area and talked to the occupants of the house. He said according to the occupants, a light bulb exploded which started the fire.

“Buti na lang na maagap ang mga magkakapitbahay na agad kumilos para mapatay ang sunog (It's a good thing that the neighbors were quick to act to extinguish the fire),” he posted on Facebook.

The mayor also commended the quick response of firefighters and rescue units from the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, and Barangays Alabang and Ayala Alabang.

Biazon expressed concern over a child who experienced trauma from the fire. The room of the child was where the fire started.

“Nang kausapin ko siya, damang-dama ko ang takot niya. Sabi niya “sana wala nang sunog” habang siya ay nanginginig (When I talked to the child, I felt his fear. He said, ‘I hope there’s no more fire’ while shaking),” the mayor said.

He asked the Social Services Department to visit the family and conduct a psycho-social evaluation of the child.
