Col. Jorry Baclor, chief of AFP public affairs office, said the blaze started at the compound of the AFP's Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems Service (CEISSAFP) around 5 p.m.

"The fire started inside the personnel barracks at around 5 pm for still unknown reasons. An investigation by the BFP is still ongoing," Baclor told reporters.

"The firetruck in Camp Aguinaldo immediately responded then other fire trucks also arrived in the area. The fire was immediately contained," he added.

A report from the BFP said the fire reached first alarm at 5:56 p.m. before it was declared under control at 6:36 p.m.

The fire was declared out at around 7 p.m.

Luckily, Baclor said no military personnel was hurt in the incident.

"Only the personnel barracks sustained damages," he noted as the fire was swiftly extinguished before it spread into other military infrastructure.

As of writing, fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze and the extent of its damage.
